Emergency Road Repairs Initiated in Vriesland Following Resident Protests

By Delicia Janneire

Immediate action has been taken to address road damage in Vriesland, Region Three, caused by heavy-laden trucks.

Public Works Minister Juan Edghill visited the area this morning to discuss and resolve the issues faced by local residents.

In response to recent protests by the Vriesland community, Minister Edghill has appointed Diamond Construction, a local contractor, to undertake emergency repairs.

These repairs aim to address the road damage and alleviate the discomfort experienced by residents due to speeding trucks.

During the meeting with Minister Edghill, residents expressed their frustration over the deteriorating road conditions and the disruption caused by the trucks.

They highlighted the need for immediate road repairs and better management to prevent further issues.

Minister Edghill committed to filling the potholes and clearing the drains in the affected areas.

He also plans to engage with truck drivers to establish guidelines to prevent additional damage and ensure respectful use of the road.

The Minister emphasized that contractors must adhere to speed limits, maintain the road, and show respect to the local community.

He further assured that agreements would be signed with the contractors to ensure long-term maintenance and prevent future problems.

The government has made it clear that it will not tolerate reckless use of community roads or any disrespect towards residents by contractors or government personnel.
