Overseas-based Guyanese boxer Elton Dharry is feeling confident as he heads into his pre-world title fight on December 28 at the newly refurbished Cliff Anderson Sports Hall. Dharry, who will face undefeated Colombian knockout artist Randy Ramirez, remains unbothered by the challenge ahead, despite it being one of his toughest fights of the year.

“I feel good heading into this fight. I had a great, great training camp and I’m not worried too much. I’m just going to show up and be myself,” said Dharry.

While Dharry has a bigger fight scheduled for February, he is fully focused on the challenge in front of him.

“I’m prepared for whatever style because I haven’t seen much of him, so we’ve been training for all types of styles in the ring. I’ve been around a while, I’ve seen a lot of stuff, and I’ll be prepared for whatever comes my way,” he added.

Dharry is not letting Ramirez’s undefeated record intimidate him.

“When you’re undefeated, you have some sort of confidence, but I’ve been in the ring with quite a few undefeated fighters, and they’re all pretty much the same. They all try to do the same thing. I just have to give my best and give him his first defeat,” Dharry declared.

The fight card will also feature Olympian Keevin Allicock, who promises to deliver an exciting display of boxing.

The night will include four amateur bouts as well. Doors open at 18:00 hours.
