Education Ministry Applauds Budget 2024 Allocations

Education Minister Priya Manickchand has expressed her satisfaction with the budgetary allocation for the Ministry of Education in 2024, emphasizing the positive impact it will have on the country’s education system.

The budget allocates a substantial $135.2 billion to realize the government’s vision of creating a world-class education system. Minister Manickchand outlined plans to use these funds to construct more schools across the country, with a particular focus on developing communities.

She highlighted the need for additional educational infrastructure.

The budgetary provisions extend beyond infrastructure development. Minister Manickchand emphasized that secondary schools in regions 1, 7, 8, and 9 would undergo upgrades and new constructions to ensure universal access to quality education.

To maintain high academic standards, the budget will also facilitate extensive training for teachers. Minister Manickchand explained the magnitude of the training initiative.
