Eagles Victorious Over Colts in One Guyana Basketball League

The Cummingsburg Bounty Colts faced a tough challenge against the Stabroek Eagles in the One Guyana Basketball League, with Shelroy Thomas delivering an outstanding performance of 37 points.

However, despite his efforts, the Colts fell short, suffering a nine-point defeat to the Eagles at the National Gymnasium.

The Stabroek Eagles secured a one-nil lead in the Jaguar Conference Final, maintaining their unbeaten streak with a final score of 73-64.

The game began with an evenly matched first quarter, but the Eagles gained momentum in the second quarter, outscoring the Colts 18-7 to take a commanding 37-22 lead by halftime.

Although the Colts showed determination in the third quarter, narrowing the gap with 16 points to their opponents’ seven, it was in the final quarter that the Eagles secured their victory with a strong performance.

Travis Belgrave led the Eagles with an impressive 30 points, while Shelroy Thomas showcased his skills with 37 points for the Colts, despite their loss.

Following the match, Eagles coach Adrian Hooper expressed satisfaction with his team’s performance, emphasizing their aggressive yet strategic approach to the game.

He believes that if they continue to execute their plans effectively, they can emerge victorious in future matchups against the Colts.

On the other hand, Bounty Colts’ coach Willon Cameron expressed gratitude for the opportunity to compete but acknowledged their inability to secure the win.

In other matches, the Kwakwani Untouchables claimed a decisive 79-57 victory against the Kitty/Campbellville Ravens, setting the stage for an intense game three between the two sides.
