The One Guyana Basketball Premier League has reached its midseason break, with 22 teams competing fiercely for the top spot.
Matches are being held at the Retrieve Hard Courts in Linden and the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall in Georgetown.
Stabroek Eagles, last season’s top-performing team, continue to dominate the Jaguars Conference with four consecutive wins.
However, the Nets and the University of Guyana Trojans have kept pace, each securing four victories.
The Nets, having played five games, suffered one loss, while the Trojans have lost twice in six outings.
In the Harpy Eagles Conference, Pacesetters have emerged as the standout team, winning all five of their matches with impressive margins.
Block 22 Flames from Linden hold second place with four wins and one loss, while defending champions North Ruimveldt Ravens sit in third with three victories and one defeat.
On the individual performance front, Zion Gray of the Eagles has been a key player, amassing 80 points in five games.
Meanwhile, Delroy Critchlow of Plaisance Guardians has scored 54 points despite his team being positioned eighth in the Jaguars Conference.
The tournament, which concludes in May, features a competitive prize structure, with the champion team set to receive one million dollars.
The second-place team will earn half a million, while third and fourth places will also receive cash prizes and trophies.
The league is sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Youth, and Sport, along with the National Sports Commission.
The next round of matches is scheduled for March 1st and 2nd at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.
