The Stabroek Eagles and Wortmanville Pacesetters delivered dominant performances in their latest matchups at the One Guyana National Basketball League, held at the National Gymnasium.
In the opening game, the Stabroek Eagles soared to a resounding 97-37 victory over the Plaisance Guardians.
Zian Gray led the charge, netting an impressive 38 points.
His outstanding performance was supported by National team player Travis Belgrave and Denzil Ross, who each contributed 13 points to the Eagles’ commanding win.
Despite their best efforts, the Guardians struggled to keep pace, with Colwin Nurse, Kadeem Beckles, and Nduko Horatio each adding 7-8 points.
Following the game, Eagles captain Travis Belgrave shared his thoughts on the victory, stating, “I think we were much better on the offensive end… it was all praises to defense.”
He emphasized the importance of defense and expressed the team’s intention to carry that energy into the new year.
The feature game of the night saw the Wortmanville Pacesetters take on Prospect Kobras.
The Pacesetters made a statement with a dominant 76-46 win.
Jaleel Duke was the standout performer, scoring 16 points to lead his team to victory.
The Kobras fought valiantly, with Elijah David and Trevor Smith contributing 13 and 12 points respectively, but their efforts fell short against the Pacesetters’ well-rounded team.
