Dominican Republic Chamber of Commerce Launched in Guyana

On the second day of the Guyana Energy Conference and Supply Chain Expo at the Marriott Hotel, the Dominican Republic Chamber of Commerce was officially launched, aiming to strengthen bilateral ties and foster business relations between the two nations.

The Chamber of Commerce seeks to establish robust commercial connections between the Dominican Republic and Guyana, facilitating the expansion of products and services across borders.

Speaking at the launch, Ernesto Torres-Pereyra, the Dominican Republic’s Ambassador to Guyana, emphasized the chamber’s role in promoting greater collaboration on various fronts between the two countries.

He highlighted significant achievements in bilateral relations, including reciprocal visits by the presidents, the signing of cooperation agreements, and the establishment of direct flights between Santo Domingo and Georgetown.

President of the Dominican Republic Chamber of Commerce, Miguel Angel González, underscored the importance of this initiative for advancing the relationship between Guyana and the Dominican Republic.

He expressed enthusiasm for the ongoing development of bilateral ties and highlighted the chamber’s commitment to fostering trade in key sectors such as agriculture, tourism, oil, and energy.

To mark the commencement of its operations, the chamber conducted a ribbon-cutting ceremony officiated by Chief Investment Officer and CEO of Go-Invest, Dr. Peter Ramsaroop, along with officials from the Dominican Republic.

The launch of the Dominican Republic Chamber of Commerce in Guyana signifies a significant milestone in strengthening economic cooperation and promoting mutual prosperity between the two nations.
