Documentary “The Price of Love” Honors the Legacy of Dr. Cheddi Jagan

The Cheddi Jagan Research Centre pays tribute to the late President Dr. Cheddi Jagan on his 106th birth anniversary with the debut of a documentary titled “The Price of Love.”

The documentary, crafted by Richard Audley Vaughn, delves into the life, work, and political career of Guyana’s third executive President, Dr. Cheddi Jagan.

Administrator of the CJRC, Indranie Chandarpal, expressed her hopes that the film will raise awareness about Dr. Jagan’s remarkable journey and inspire others.

“Through this film, I hope more people will become aware of Cheddi Jagan and be inspired by the dentist who took on sugar and then rose to lead his party to victory.”

“The Price of Love” marks the third film in a trilogy produced by the Cheddi Jagan Research Centre.

It portrays Dr. Jagan’s unwavering commitment to independence, peace, and freedom.

Chairman of the CJRC, Hydar Ally, emphasized the documentary’s significance in preserving Guyana’s history and encouraged young people to watch it to gain insights into Dr. Jagan’s life and contributions.

Dr. Cheddi Jagan, often regarded as the ‘Son of the soil’ and “Father of the Nation,” founded the People’s Progressive Party and served as Guyana’s third executive President from October 1992 until his passing on March 6, 1997.

The documentary “The Price of Love” serves as a poignant reminder of Dr. Cheddi Jagan’s enduring legacy and his profound impact on Guyana’s history.
