Residents of Region Six have begun receiving the one hundred-thousand-dollar cash grant, with the distribution exercise officially commencing in Mibicuri, Black Bush Polder.

Scores of residents turned out in large numbers to uplift their cheques, visibly excited and grateful for the support.

Many shared how the funds would assist in various personal needs, such as supporting their families, improving their homes, and addressing other financial challenges.

One resident expressed, “I feel so proud and happy to the government for assisting us with this $100,000. With this money, I will buy food for my children and maintain until everything is nice.”

Another stated, “This cheque can help send the children to school, and I can do one or two other things with the extra money.”

Dwight Punch, a local resident, shared, “This was something nice that I was waiting for a long time. I will put it to good use. I wish it could happen again next year, or the year after, no problem.”

The distribution continued at the Rose Hall Estate Community Centre in East Canje, where residents were equally overjoyed to receive the cash grant.

Similarly, in Region Two, the cash grant distribution has also begun, providing much-needed assistance to more residents in the region.
