Development Projects Commissioned in Quiko Village, Region 9

In Quiko Village, located in South Central Rupununi, three significant projects have been commissioned aimed at fostering community and economic development.

The projects include a $2 million Youth Documentation Centre, a catering kitchen, and a Sewing Centre.

Vice Chairman of Region 9, Bertie Xavier, commended the community’s progress under its leadership, praising the exceptional development seen in Quiko.

Funded in part by the COVID-19 Economic Investment Fund and monies from the Carbon Credit program, these projects signify a step forward for the village.

Additionally, the village is undertaking the development of a Rodeo Arena, which will serve as a venue for annual rodeo activities.

The efforts in Quiko reflect a collaborative approach to development, with community members working together to support each other’s endeavors.

These initiatives are expected to contribute significantly to the overall advancement of Quiko and the well-being of its residents.
