Develdt Primary School Celebrates Historic Achievement with Two Students Securing Spots at National Schools

Develdt Primary School is celebrating a historic achievement as two of its students secured spots at top national schools following the National Grade Six Assessment (NGSA).

Eleven-year-old Jonelle Kertzious made history by becoming the first student from Develdt Primary to be accepted into Queen’s College.

Additionally, Kyle Harris earned a place at St. Joseph’s High School, marking a significant milestone for the institution.

Jonelle Kertzious, who aspires to become a veterinary surgeon, achieved the seventh best performance in Region Ten.

She expressed her amazement and excitement about beginning her new educational journey.

In a telephone interview, Head Teacher Latricia Lepps-Harris expressed her delight upon receiving the news about the students’ placements.

She credited the school’s supportive environment for helping reduce exam anxiety among the pupils.

Kyle Harris, the son of the school’s head teacher, also shared his joy, noting that his hard work had finally paid off.

He mentioned that preparation through the Guyana Learning Channel significantly contributed to his success.

With 12 primary schools in sub-region ten, Develdt Primary’s accomplishment is a testament to the dedication of its staff and students.
