Efforts to implement the Dakoura Watershed Management Plan are advancing, with stakeholders gathering for a consultation meeting at the Watooka Guest House.

The plan aims to ensure the sustainable use of the Dakoura Creek, a vital source of potable water for surrounding communities in Region 10.

The consultation session, led by Water Specialist and Consultant Samuel Wright, provided an opportunity for stakeholders to review the plan, reaffirm their commitments, and discuss strategies for moving forward.

Wright noted the positive and engaging nature of the discussions, highlighting the valuable input received from attendees.

Linden’s Mayor, Sharma Solomon, also commended the initiative, emphasizing the importance of watershed management in the region.

Solomon pointed out the crucial role of groundwater and the Dakoura Creek as a primary water source, urging careful management to protect the area’s environment.

A follow-up consultation will be held on the Wismar Shore to continue the dialogue on watershed management.

This ongoing collaboration reflects the community’s commitment to preserving the Dakoura Creek and ensuring its long-term sustainability.
