–Rodrigues emphasises, as new restaurant opens

As more restaurants and businesses open across the country, Minister of Tourism, Industry and Commerce, Susan Rodrigues is emphasising the importance of quality customer service.
She was at time speaking at the opening of a new restaurant – The Spice Route. The impact of good customer service was underlined by the Minister as she welcomed this latest addition to the local hospitality sector.
She says a growing hospitality sector and improved customer service will help elevate “Destination Guyana.”
“I’m one of those diners who go out to enjoy good food ofc, but for me I rate the experience above the food. I’ve been a repeated customer at restaurants that don’t have good food but have excellent customer service where from the moment you walk through the door you feel catered to, you are waited upon and that creates the experience that I keep returning for,” she said.

Minister Rodrigues made these remarks at the openeing of the Spice Route, a dining establishment inspired by India’s rich culinary heritage.
She says food culture plays an important role in strengthening the tourism sector and showcasing the country’s multicultural identity to visitors.
“They’re always amaze about the diversity that exist in Guyana and the unity in which it all exist in Guyana and that is always a site to be hold and an experience to be had and spice root gives us another opportunity and I’m happy to add this to the list of new restaurants that are being opened,” she added.
The Spice Route, located on Crown Street, Queenstown, Georgetown, is inspired by India’s rich culinary heritage, bringing together centuries-old traditions from Mughal kitchens, the coastal spices of Goa, and the bold flavors of Chettinad, offering diners an authentic and elevated culinary experience.
