Less than 24 hours remain until the highly anticipated inaugural International Business Conference kicks off at the Georgetown Marriott Hotel.

Set to run from October 15 to 17, this groundbreaking event will bring together local and international businesses, focusing on key sectors such as agro-processing, technology, and manufacturing.

Chairman of Go-Invest Caribbean and the Suriname-Guyana Chamber of Commerce, Dr. Vishnu Doerga, expressed his excitement over the overwhelming response to the conference, which is now at maximum capacity with hundreds of participants.

He emphasized the importance of this platform in fostering business-to-business collaborations and making valuable connections for future ventures.

The conference will also highlight infrastructure, logistics, and manufacturing discussions, with a target of facilitating over 1,000 business meetings.

Dr. Doerga is hopeful that this collaboration will lead to more joint ventures, faster business developments, and, ultimately, job creation in both Guyana and Suriname.

Rahul Lildar, CEO of the Suriname-Guyana Chamber of Commerce, also shared his enthusiasm, noting that it is remarkable to see such a major event unfold just nine months after the chamber’s formation.

He highlighted the participation of companies from Canada, the US, Curacao, Trinidad, Colombia, Brazil, and Suriname.

This conference aims to accelerate economic growth and build a more connected single market between Suriname and Guyana, creating numerous business opportunities for both nations.
