The Municipality of Corriverton, Region Six, officially marked the start of the Christmas season with its annual Christmas tree light-up ceremony at the Recreational Park on Sunday.
The event brought together residents and local officials in a celebration of unity and festive spirit.
The lighting of the Christmas tree served as a symbol of togetherness, reflecting the values of generosity and community during the holiday season.
Minister of Finance and Public Service, Dr. Ashni Singh, joined the town for the occasion and commended the initiative for fostering a sense of national unity.
Mayor Imran Amin and the municipal council were recognized for their efforts in organizing the event, with Minister Singh encouraging them to continue making it an annual tradition.
The evening’s festivities were further highlighted by the distribution of over 1,000 toys to children, spreading joy and reinforcing the spirit of giving within the community.
