Art enthusiasts and supporters of local culture are eagerly anticipating the opening of the ‘Converging Ties’ art exhibition, set to debut tomorrow, July 3rd, at Castellani House.

Organized as part of The Bishops’ High School 2024 reunion celebrations, the exhibition promises a showcase of curious, interesting, and abstract artworks.

The name ‘Converging Ties’ was inspired by the school’s catchphrase, “The ties that Bind,” as explained by participating artist Kwesi Bovell.

This thematic connection aims to explore the bonds that unite individuals and communities through artistic expression.

Dominique Hunter, coordinator of the exhibition, highlighted that the event will be open to the public from July 3rd to July 17th, with gallery hours from 9 am to 5 pm on weekdays and extended hours on Saturdays from 10 am to 6 pm.

An artist talk is scheduled for July 10th at 5 pm, providing attendees with insights into the creative processes and inspirations behind the exhibited artworks.

‘Converging Ties’ will unfold within the prestigious setting of Castellani House, the national art gallery located on Vlissengen Road, offering a platform for local artists to showcase their talent and creativity.

The exhibition invites the general public to immerse themselves in the world of contemporary art and support Guyanese artists.
