Classes Resume at Wismar Christianburg Secondary School After Health Scare

Students of Wismar Christianburg Secondary School in Region 10 have returned to classes following a series of unexplained illnesses that disrupted school activities last week.

The school building was thoroughly inspected and sanitized by the Education Department on Monday to ensure a safe environment for the students and staff.

Acting Regional Education Officer La Shanna Anderson held a meeting with parents and teachers on Tuesday to address concerns and provide updates on the measures being taken to maintain student safety.

During the PTA meeting, Anderson assured attendees that the Education Department had done everything possible to ensure the school’s safety.

She mentioned that the Regional Environmental Department conducted checks and found no pollutants in the environment, while the entire school was sanitized.

To further enhance safety, the Education Department has improved ventilation by installing additional fans, and a nurse has been stationed at the school to provide immediate medical assistance if needed.

The department is also working closely with the Regional Health Department to ensure quick responses to any future incidents.

The school experienced multiple cases of students fainting and blacking out, starting last Wednesday and continuing through Friday, which led to several students being taken to the Linden Hospital Complex.

Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported, and all affected students have since returned to school.

The Education Department continues to monitor the situation closely and is committed to maintaining a safe learning environment for the students.
