The Central Housing and Planning Authority (CHPA) is making significant progress towards its goal of distributing 10,000 house lots by the end of the year, according to Housing Minister Collin Croal.
During a recent Dream Realised event, Minister Croal reported that nearly 6,000 house lots have been distributed so far this year, with plans to allocate an additional 4,000 by December 31.
Minister Croal highlighted ongoing efforts to meet the target, mentioning upcoming distributions in various regions, including Molsen Creek in Region 6 and continued allocations on the East Coast and East Bank of Demerara.
The minister emphasized that the development of new housing schemes is progressing, with infrastructure improvements such as road networks facilitating access to these areas.
As part of a broader goal to allocate 50,000 house lots during the current term, the CHPA has already distributed 36,000 lots.
Achieving the 10,000-house lot target by year-end will bring the total to 46,000, with one year remaining in the term.
Minister Croal reassured the public of the housing department’s commitment to meeting its targets and addressing the needs of Guyana’s growing population.
