CHPA Issues Warning Against Illegal Housing Transactions

By Nakasia Logan

The Central Housing and Planning Authority (CHPA) is intensifying efforts to combat illegal housing transactions, with Minister Susan Rodrigues issuing a stern warning against such activities.

Minister Rodrigues cautions house lot applicants against engaging in any illegal housing transactions, emphasizing that the ministry is diligently addressing applications.

She urges individuals not to yield to pressure or promises from unauthorized individuals offering to expedite housing applications in exchange for financial gain.

Despite the ministry’s commitment to addressing housing needs, reports of exploitation within the housing program have surfaced.

Rodrigues condemns attempts to exploit the program for personal benefit and reassures applicants that their applications will be processed legitimately and transparently through the CHPA and the Ministry of Housing.

Rodrigues underscores the importance of adhering to lawful procedures, highlighting that securing house lots through legitimate channels contributes to the integrity and transparency of the housing program.

The ministry remains steadfast in its commitment to rooting out corruption, as evidenced by the termination of an employee earlier this year due to misconduct.

As the CHPA works to maintain the integrity of the housing program, individuals are urged to follow lawful procedures and avoid engaging in illegal transactions.
