As Mashramani 2024 approaches, the spirit of celebration fills the air, with children leading the way in the festivities.
Earlier today, the streets of Georgetown came alive with the vibrant energy of young masqueraders participating in the Children’s Mashramani Parade.
Twenty top entries from educational districts across the region paraded through the city, showcasing their creativity and enthusiasm.
From Parade Ground to the National Park, the young participants joyfully trampled the roadways, accompanied by cheers and applause from spectators.
At the National Park, the children had the opportunity to perform for judges and onlookers who gathered to support their efforts.
The floats, adorned with colorful decorations, depicted a wide range of themes, including social, environmental, and agricultural topics.
Through their floats and performances, the young masqueraders not only celebrated Guyana’s culture and heritage but also highlighted important issues facing their communities and the nation as a whole.
As Mashramani festivities continue to unfold throughout the week, the Children’s Parade serves as a heartwarming reminder of the joy and unity that this annual celebration brings to Guyana.
