Children’s Mashramani Competitions Kick Off in Georgetown

The celebration of Mashramani 2024 in Guyana has begun, and today marked the start of the Georgetown leg of the Mashramani competitions for schools at the National Cultural Centre.

Day one of the competition witnessed primary schools with students aged 5 to 7 participating in categories such as Religious Belief, Fantasy, and Games, among others.

Ketley Primary, St Pius, West Field Prep, and Stella Maris Primary schools took the stage adorned in their games attire, patriotic clothing, and fantasy wear.

The competition featured impromptu performances between segments, providing students with an opportunity to showcase their talents on stage.

The Children’s Mashramani Competitions, organized by the Department of Education, will continue with choir presentations, masquerade dances, and other performances from secondary schools.

The lively and colorful event showcased the creativity and enthusiasm of the young participants as they celebrated Guyana’s culture and traditions.
