Chef Devan Rajkumar, a culinary expert with Guyanese and Canadian roots, has released a new cookbook titled “Mad Love: Big Flavors Made to Share, from South Asia to the Caribbean.”
The book highlights an exotic fusion of Caribbean and South Asian recipes, inspired by his diverse cultural background and global cooking experiences.
Rajkumar, who grew up immersed in the flavors of both Guyanese and South Asian cuisine, brings his culinary journey to life in this cookbook.
He shares recipes that reflect his childhood influences, learned from his family, as well as his experiences cooking across India and Pakistan.
His travels and successful pop-up ventures in these regions helped shape the collection of recipes featured in “Mad Love.”
Despite the digital age, Chef Devan made the decision to create a physical cookbook, describing it as a legacy piece that holds sentimental value.
He emphasized that this project was a long-held dream, providing readers with something tangible that they can cherish and enjoy for years to come.
The cookbook is available for purchase at various locations in Guyana, including Mattai’s Supermarket, Hard Rock Café, and Grand Coastal Hotel, at a price of $7,000.
Additionally, the book can be ordered online via Amazon.
