Defending champions Chase Academy delivered an outstanding performance on Sunday, decisively defeating East Ruimveldt 15-0 in the Republic Bank Limited U-18 Secondary School Football League at the Ministry of Education Ground.
East Ruimveldt entered the match understrength after a heated clash the previous day, which resulted in four red cards for the team.
As a result, they were unable to match the relentless attacking power of the defending champions.
Chase Academy asserted dominance from the outset, with Bryan Wharton showcasing his skills by scoring seven goals.
Omar Sam and Darius Chester each netted two goals, while Mark Glasgow, Isaiah Ifill, Neeiaz Baksh, and Emmanuel Campbell contributed one goal each to the final tally.
Earlier in the day, Bartica Secondary triumphed 6-2 over President’s College. Billy Smith put Bartica in the lead with two early goals in the 4th and 9th minutes.
Teammate Reizer Reid extended the lead with two goals of his own.
Although President’s College responded with goals from Omarie Grandson and Jude Andrews early in the second half, Bartica’s Dexter France and Tyrese Collinson sealed the victory with late goals, ensuring Bartica remained unbeaten in the league.
Waramuri also kept their flawless record intact with a victory over West Ruimveldt Secondary, thanks to goals from Rondell Peters, Eldon Lewis, and Paul Lewis.
Dolphin Secondary rounded off the day’s matches with a 2-0 win over South Ruimveldt Secondary.
Late goals from Collin David (62nd minute) and Omarion Lewis (70th minute) ensured the Charlestown-based school claimed the comfortable victory.
