Ramsammy posited that the government has no plans to shut down the institution, as he emphasized commitment to improving the nursing school by implementing upgrades and expanding its programs. He said that the aim is to include allied health programs in the curriculum, which will in turn broaden the school’s scope and equip students with a more comprehensive skillset.

“We want to expand the remit of the school,” stated Dr. Ramsammy, highlighting the government’s vision to provide better healthcare services through enhanced training and education at the nursing school.

Furthermore, discussions will be initiated in the coming weeks to explore additional investments aimed at improving healthcare delivery in the region.

The Charles Roza School of Nursing has a rich history, having produced thousands of highly skilled medical professionals since its establishment on February 27, 1959.

These graduates have made significant contributions to the health sector, serving the needs of the community and supporting the nation’s healthcare goals.
