After a hiatus of two decades, the Central America and Caribbean Bodybuilding Championship is set to make a triumphant return to the stage of the National Cultural Center in Guyana from October 17 to 20.

With over 200 athletes expected to participate, the championship promises to be a spectacle of strength and determination.

Keavon Bess, President of Local Bodybuilding, expressed confidence in the preparations, stating that the local organizing committee is diligently ironing out logistics and accommodation for the event.

The Ministry of Sport has recently joined as a main sponsor, alongside Fitness Express, signaling crucial support for the success of the championship.

Bess underscored the importance of government support, emphasizing that it has bolstered the morale of aspiring competitors.

The assurance from the government has reignited public interest and enthusiasm for the championship.

Guyana is gearing up to assemble its largest local contingent for the games since the last hosting, with 40 athletes set to represent the nation.

In the previous edition held in Aruba, Guyana showcased its prowess by securing an impressive tally of four gold medals, two silver medals, and a bronze.

The return of the championship to Guyana marks a significant milestone in the country’s sporting landscape.

Among the nations slated to attend are the Dominican Republic, Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica, Barbados, Panama, and Costa Rica, promising a showcase of athletic prowess and camaraderie on the international stage.
