The Cemetery Road project is making significant progress, with 90% of the work now complete.
Minister of Public Works, Juan Edghill, provided this update during an inspection today, noting that the project has advanced from 70% to 90% completion in just 11 days.
Joel Tucker, a senior engineer from the Ministry, detailed the remaining tasks. He indicated that by the end of today, the entire western lane is expected to be open to traffic.
Additional work includes rehabilitating a wooden bridge near the police outpost and accelerating the installation of the lighting system.
The project, awarded to Avinash Construction and Metal Works in 2022 at a cost of 475 million, faced delays.
Two subcontractors, along with Avinash Construction, have been given a two-week deadline to finalize the remaining work.
