NCN News visited the Ramadan Village at the MYO ground on Woolford Avenue, where participants shared their experiences and perspectives on participating in the village celebration and observing Ramadan.

The Ramadan Village was established to foster greater awareness of Islam during the holy month of Ramadan.

It comprises various booths showcasing different aspects of Islam, including garments, literature, local and international cuisine, sweetmeats, and recreational areas for families to enjoy.

Dr. Kevin Matai, Manager of Matai’s Chicken King, praised the initiative, highlighting its role in bringing families together and creating a sense of community.

Sumayyah Ahmad, representing A & Z Cakes, emphasized the significance of Ramadan as a holy month for Muslims, where good deeds are believed to be multiplied seventy times over.

Additionally, the village features historic artifacts and replicas sacred to Islam, including the keys to the holy Kaaba, located in the Great Mosque in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.

The Kaaba is revered as the most sacred place on Earth by Muslims worldwide.

The Ramadan Village is open to the public from 4 to 10 pm on weekends (Friday through Sunday) throughout the month of Ramadan, providing an opportunity for both Muslims and non-Muslims to learn more about Islam and participate in the festivities.
