Carlos LaRose’s All-Round Brilliance Guides Demerara Hawks to Dominant Win Over Berbice Caimans

A standout all-round performance from Carlos LaRose propelled the Demerara Hawks to a commanding seven-wicket victory over the Berbice Caimans in match 11 of the BetCageSport-sponsored National T20 League at the LBI Community Center on Monday.

Opting to bat first, the Berbice Caimans struggled with the bat, collapsing to just 85 runs in 19.5 overs.

Only Under-19 prospect Shamar Apple (22) and Captain Sachin Singh (14) offered any real resistance against the Hawks’ bowlers.

Ezekiel Wilson was the star with the ball for the Hawks, claiming three wickets for just six runs in his four overs.

LaRose, alongside Wilson, wreaked havoc on the Caimans’ batting lineup, taking three wickets for 11 runs in 3.5 overs.

Christopher Harry and Chanderpaul Ramraj each took two wickets, further contributing to the Caimans’ early collapse.

With just 86 runs required for victory, the Hawks chased down the target with ease.

LaRose anchored the chase with an unbeaten 23 from 23 balls, supported by Adrian Hinds (22) and Brandon Jaikaran (13).

The Hawks reached the target comfortably in 15.4 overs, securing a seven-wicket victory.

For the Caimans, bowlers Matthew Pottaya, Kwesi Mickle, and Riyad Latif each claimed one wicket, but it wasn’t enough to stop the Hawks.

This win propels the Demerara Hawks up the league standings with an important two points, while the Berbice Caimans remain without a win in the competition.

The National T20 League is sponsored by BetCageSport and supported by the Government of Guyana.
