Caribbean Water and Wastewater Association Expanding Membership and Addressing Water Concerns

The Caribbean Water and Wastewater Association (CWWA) has been actively working to increase its membership base over the years.

President of the Association, Lieutenant Colonel Marlon Daniels, highlights the growth and evolution of the CWWA since its establishment in 1991.

Initially, it focused solely on the English-speaking Caribbean.

However, their constitution has been amended to include the French, Dutch, and Spanish Caribbean.

Lieutenant Colonel Daniels emphasizes the critical role of water resources in the Caribbean’s tourism sector and acknowledges the escalating concerns about water scarcity and stress.

He anticipates that the conference will serve as a dynamic platform to address these issues.

Additionally, the CWWA is committed to fostering innovation in the water sector to drive national planning and growth across the region.

They aim to accelerate progress in the water, wastewater, and solid waste sectors.

In a charitable endeavor, housing and water ministers Collin Croal and Susan Rodrigues joined the CWWA for a “Walk of Hope” to raise awareness and funds for the Mahaica Children’s Home.

This initiative is part of the ongoing conference activities.
