CANU issues public warning against sale and use of “cartoon-themed” illicit drug packaging

The Customs Anti Narcotic Unit (CANU) has observed online advertisements offering cartoon-themed “1 gram” zip-lock packaging commonly associated with the packaging, distribution, and sale of illicit narcotics, including cannabis and synthetic drugs. The Unit wishes to advise the public that:

  1. CANU reminds vendors and members of the public that online platforms are actively monitored, and intelligence-led operations include digital marketplaces and social media sales activity.
  2. Persons are strongly advised to cease the sale, purchase, or distribution of these items where they are intended for illicit use.
  3. Members of the public are encouraged to report suspicious online drug-related sales anonymously to CANU.
  4. CANU remains committed to protecting communities, disrupting drug distribution networks, and preventing narcotics from reaching homes, schools, and vulnerable populations.
