Caimans and Jaguars Secure Victories in GCB T10 Blast

The Guyana Cricket Board’s T10 Blast at the Enmore Community Center Ground, East Coast Demerara, witnessed contrasting victories for the Berbice Caimans and the Essequibo Jaguars in an exciting double-header.

In the first game, the Berbice Caimans faced off against the Essequibo Anacondas.

Batting first, the Anacondas posted a modest total of 74 for seven in their allotted ten overs, with Ushardeva Balgobin (26) and Kevon Boodie (20) being the top scorers.

Aryan Persaud’s impressive bowling figures of three for three in two overs and Myhiem Khan’s two for 13 restricted the Anacondas.

Chasing a target of 75 runs, the Caimans comfortably reached the target with six wickets in hand, courtesy of Jonathan Van-Lange’s quickfire 23 from 12 balls and Captain Kelvon Anderson’s unbeaten 21 from 18 balls.

The Anacondas’ bowling effort was led by Bruce Vincent, who took two wickets for 31 runs.

In the second match, the Demerara Pitbulls faced the Essequibo Jaguars.

Batting first, the Pitbulls posted a competitive total of 94 for six in their 60 balls, with Damian Vantull (42) and Jeremiah Scott (35) leading the charge.

In response, the Jaguars chased down the target of 95 runs with a single wicket in hand, thanks to crucial contributions from Dwayne Dick (27) and Ashmead Nedd (21) towards the end of the innings.

The Pitbulls’ bowling was spearheaded by Malcolm Hubbard and Christopher Barnwell, who claimed three and two wickets respectively.

The GCB’s T10 tournament will continue until May 13, promising more thrilling cricket action for fans across Guyana.
