The International Building Expo 2024 was launched last evening under the theme “Building on the Foundation of Sustainability and Unity.”

Housing Minister Collin Croal urged local and international companies to provide the Guyanese market with sustainable building materials at affordable prices.

During the launch, Minister Croal emphasized the importance of introducing new products and services in the housing and construction sectors.

He highlighted the demand for sustainable materials and expressed hope that suppliers will meet this need.

The launch event also saw Minister Croal calling on the Diplomatic Community to leverage their networks to encourage delegations to bring their construction and development trends to Guyana.

This, he noted, would foster knowledge exchange and international cooperation.

Minister within the Ministry of Housing and Water, Susan Rodrigues, spoke about the growth and interest in the Expo over the past three years.

She noted the increase in exhibitors from 356 in 2022 to 450 in 2023, with expectations of 500 exhibitors and corporate sponsors this year.

Visitor numbers also rose from 100,000 in 2022 to 120,000 in 2023, with similar levels of support anticipated in 2024, especially from regional and international partners.

Additionally, Minister Rodrigues announced an exciting prospect for attendees: individuals will have the opportunity to receive their house lots and land titles during the Expo, further enhancing its significance for aspiring homeowners and investors.

The International Building Expo 2024 is set to take place in August, promising to be a pivotal event for the housing and construction sectors in Guyana.
