BOSAI Minerals Group has reassured motorists of their safety following the installation of an overhead conveyor system on Washer Pond Road in Linden.
The installation, part of the company’s MAZ project, involved temporarily closing the road to heavy vehicles on Sunday morning.
Public Relations Officer Sherry Domer addressed public concerns, emphasizing that the new conveyor system, designed for the mass production of metallurgical bauxite, poses no threat to vehicular traffic.
The system, stretching 9 kilometers from the mining facility to the port front, includes an overhead portion standing at approximately 5 meters high, ensuring it does not interfere with road traffic.
During the installation, Washer Pond Road was closed for about an hour, causing a brief inconvenience primarily for logging trucks.
Domer assured that the height of the conveyor system has been carefully planned to accommodate all types of vehicles, and clear signage has been placed to guide motorists.
This new transshipment system is a significant step in BOSAI’s operations, facilitating efficient bauxite transportation while maintaining road safety for the community.
