BOSAI Minerals Group (Guyana) has announced a temporary road closure on Sunday to facilitate a crucial aspect of the MAZ project, which aims to facilitate the mass production of metallurgical bauxite in Linden.
The road closure is necessary for the connection of a new conveyor system that will stretch over the Washer Pond Road.
This infrastructure upgrade is part of BOSAI’s ongoing efforts to enhance its operations and support the efficient transportation of materials.
According to Wainwright Bethune, the Technical Services and Environmental Coordinator at BOSAI, the road closure will take place on Sunday, May 12, from 6 am to 7 am.
During this period, vehicles, particularly trucks, will be temporarily restricted from accessing the affected area.
Bethune assured the public that safety measures have been implemented, and there is no danger to the public during the road closure.
Small vehicles will still be able to traverse the area, as a diversion will be set up to facilitate smooth traffic flow.
The new conveyor system is a crucial component of the MAZ project, which aims to significantly increase the production of metallurgical bauxite.
Stretching approximately 9 kilometers from the mining facility to the port front, this conveyor system will serve as a vital transshipment system, enhancing efficiency and productivity.
Residents and motorists are advised to plan their travel accordingly and cooperate with traffic management measures during the brief road closure.
BOSAI remains committed to minimizing disruptions while ensuring the timely completion of essential infrastructure projects.
