Faulkner outlined the structure of the training program, highlighting its duration and focus areas.

“Year one involves employment in Guyana with training in Freight forwarding and supply chain Logistics,” she explained. “In year two, participants are seconded to one of our offices globally to be part of the international supply chain logistics.”

Currently, two trainees are stationed in Singapore and Houston, two key hubs for cargo movement in the company’s operations.

The trainees selected in 2022 were strategically placed at Blue Water Shipping’s Houston and Singapore offices, Faulkner revealed.

The aim is for them to glean best practices from an international perspective and bring back valuable insights to further develop Guyana’s logistics sector.

Faulkner emphasized the company’s dedication to capacity building and youth development, recognizing education and sports as interconnected avenues for growth.

“We see a need to build capacity in this sector, which is still fairly new to Guyana,” she stated, underlining the importance of investing in the future workforce.

In an effort to expand opportunities, Faulkner announced that Blue Water Shipping would open up two more spaces, enabling four individuals to undergo training both locally and abroad.

With offices in over 70 countries worldwide and a global staff of 2500, the company is proud to contribute to Guyana’s energy conference, showcasing its commitment to skill development and spreading awareness of its offerings.
