The Ministry of Housing and Water has announced plans to regularize Lower Kara Kara – Block 42 in Linden and provide the community with access to potable water.

The announcement was made during an outreach event held earlier today in the town.

Chief Executive Officer of the Central Housing and Planning Authority (CH&PA), Sherwyn Greaves, outlined the government’s ongoing efforts under the President’s ‘Operation Clean Up’ initiative, aimed at regularizing squatter communities.

Greaves emphasized that this effort is part of a broader initiative to improve living conditions for residents.

Minister within the Ministry of Housing and Water, Susan Rodrigues, also addressed residents of Block 42, assuring them that plans are already underway to bring structure to the community.

She stressed that the objective is to make the area more sustainable and viable for long-term development.

The outreach aimed to finalize arrangements for 198 residents previously identified in earlier visits.

Minister Rodrigues encouraged residents to begin the process of acquiring land titles, which will further facilitate the development of the area.

The provision of potable water and the regularization of the area are key steps towards improving living conditions and ensuring a better quality of life for Block 42 residents.
