The Black Entrepreneurs Association and the Global Opportunities Committee of the Atlanta Chambers have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that will open doors for local businesses to access capital investment opportunities in the United States.
The agreement, signed at a ceremony at the Marriott Hotel, marks a significant step in enhancing business relations between Guyana and the U.S., particularly within the vibrant entrepreneurial community in Atlanta, recognized as the number one city for business in the U.S.
The MOU is set to foster deeper collaboration between the two organizations, facilitating trade missions and business exchanges aimed at strengthening ties and providing Guyanese entrepreneurs with the opportunity to tap into wider markets.
This partnership will create a stronger engagement process, helping both groups to pursue joint opportunities and expand their business horizons.
Stacey Mollison, Director on the Board of the Atlanta Black Chambers, emphasized the importance of consistent collaboration and business trade missions as key components of the partnership.
Rowen Willabus, President of the Black Entrepreneurs Association, expressed his optimism about the future of the relationship, envisioning a “marriage” between the two organizations that would harness their combined power to create lasting opportunities.
The MOU signing was endorsed by U.S. Ambassador to Guyana, Nicole Theriot, who highlighted the significance of the agreement.
She noted that this partnership is not just a formality but a genuine effort to bring together the talent, energy, and vision of Black entrepreneurs from both countries, aiming to create new opportunities and strengthen local communities.
Ambassador Theriot also commended the Atlanta Black Chambers for their recent recognition as Chamber of the Year in the U.S., a testament to their robust network of over 1,300 member businesses.
Founded in 2020, the Black Entrepreneurs Association has a mission to support Black-owned businesses across Guyana by offering financial assistance and fostering economic growth.
The MOU with the Atlanta Black Chambers is poised to expand these efforts, providing local businesses with access to critical resources and networks that will propel their success in both domestic and international markets.
This new collaboration signals the beginning of a promising relationship that will not only benefit the members of both organizations but also contribute to the broader economic development of Guyana and the U.S.
