The Central Corentyne Chamber of Commerce has officially launched the 18th annual Berbice Exposition and Trade Fair, set to take place from October 18 to 21, 2024, at the Rose Hall Estate Community Center Ground in Canje.
This year’s event will feature over 150 booths, with half of them already reserved by exhibitors.
Entry tickets are priced at $500, offering affordable access to the highly anticipated showcase.
During the launch, Minister of Agriculture Zulfikar Mustapha delivered the keynote address, praising the Chamber’s role in fostering economic growth within Region Six.
He highlighted the government’s ongoing investments in the region, emphasizing how these efforts aim to stimulate private sector involvement and create a thriving business environment.
The Minister also underscored the significance of the Expo in offering exhibitors a valuable platform to present their products and services.
He encouraged businesses to leverage the event for networking, partnership building, and enhancing their roles in Guyana’s economic development.
This year’s Expo is themed “Innovation in Oil, Gas, and Agriculture for a Sustainable Future,” reflecting Guyana’s growing sectors.
Poonai Bhigroog, President of the Central Corentyne Chamber of Commerce, noted the relevance of this theme as it aligns with the ongoing economic developments in the country.
Region Six Chairman, David Armogan, added that the event provides a key opportunity for businesses to exhibit their products and services while allowing citizens to access and purchase local goods.
