Parents of children attending Bel Air Nursery and Primary School and Goorasammy Royal College successfully received their 45,000-dollar cash grants.

The distribution process was overseen by Minister of Tourism, Industry, and Commerce, Oneidge Walrond.

Early in the morning, parents and guardians gathered at Bel Air Primary School to receive the cash grant, intended to assist with expenses for the upcoming academic year.

This grant includes an increased amount of $40,000 along with a uniform subsidy of $5,000.

Beneficiaries expressed their gratitude, highlighting the grant’s significant impact on their families.

One of the beneficiaries, Vicky Nagasar, praised the initiative, noting it as a substantial help for her family.

Another recipient, Shri Persaud, emphasized the importance of the grant in aiding parents who might struggle with school-related expenses.

Gared Norville shared his plans to use the grant to purchase necessary school supplies for his son, while Marvin Bardon, a father of four, appreciated the support provided to all parents.

Minister Walrond highlighted the government’s commitment to supporting families and ensuring children are prepared for school.

She noted the grant as a tremendous relief for parents, aiding in the financial burden of school preparations.

The Government of Guyana has announced plans to further increase the Because We Care Cash Grant to 50,000 dollars per child by 2025, continuing its support for education and family welfare.
