The “Because We Care” cash grant distribution continued this week, reaching parents and guardians of children attending Mocha/Arcadia Nursery and Primary Schools, as well as the private nursery school Children Are Us.

The distribution event at Mocha/Arcadia Primary School was overseen by Kwame McCoy, Minister within the Office of the Prime Minister with responsibility for Public Affairs.

He emphasized the government’s commitment to enhancing the education system and preparing children for their futures.

Recipients expressed their appreciation for the financial assistance.

Grace Bentick noted that the grant allowed her to purchase school clothes for her child, who recently completed the common entrance exams.

Brittany Henry highlighted that the grant would significantly assist parents if used wisely, and she urged others to support their children’s education beyond just financial contributions.

The distribution effort has also reached remote regions, including Regions 7 and 8.

The initiative, set to wrap up this week, will see over 9.2 billion dollars disbursed to more than 205,000 public and private school children.

The cash grant benefits every child from nursery to Grade 10 and those entering Grades 12 and 13, aiming to support education and alleviate financial burdens on families.
