Defending champion Avenash Persaud has proven once again that he is the top golfer in Guyana, winning his 13th national title at the Brava Guyana Open.
Over two days, Persaud triumphed over 104 players, including some of the best from the Caribbean and North America, to claim victory.
Persaud topped the Men’s 0-9 Handicap Best Gross category with an impressive score of 145.
He was closely followed by Kevin Dindanauth, who finished second with a score of 152, and Ross Ramkissoon, who secured third place.
In the Men’s 10-18 Handicap Best Gross, Lakeram Ramsundar claimed first place, while Jaipaul Sooknandan and Lake Persaud took second and third, respectively.
Meanwhile, Arnold Deo won the Men’s 19-28 Handicap Best Gross with a score of 179, followed by Xavier Ramkellawan and Joseph Marrast.
Christine Sukhram continued to showcase her skill in both local and regional golf, taking the Women’s title at the event.
Sukhram won the Ladies Best Net ahead of second-place finisher Sabi Dhori, and also claimed the Ladies Overall Gross with a score of 165.
Shanella London finished second with 172, and Jada Charles took third with 184.
Sukhram also won Day 1’s Best Net and Best Gross titles, while Sabi Dhori and Shanella London took the Day 2 Best Net and Best Gross awards, respectively.
Other notable winners included Jeetendra Danpat, Vishal Dhani, Imtiaz Subhan, Lake Persaud, Ashish Lall, Richard Stanton, Ken Ogeer, and Arnold Deo.
Linden Golf Club President Anasha Ally expressed gratitude for the tournament’s success and acknowledged the support of the players, sponsors, and staff.
Brava General Manager Hilton Wong also commended the event’s organization and the Linden Golf Club’s ongoing commitment to excellence in the sport.
The tournament served as a testament to the skill and dedication of the players and the continued development of golf in Guyana.
