Aranaputa, a community in Region 9, has been allocated 160 million dollars this year for major infrastructure improvements.
This funding is aimed at enhancing roads and bridges in the area, supporting the community’s growth and development.
During a recent visit, Public Works Minister Juan Edghill met with residents to address concerns and discuss the allocation of these funds.
The Minister highlighted that the investment would be used to advance the region’s infrastructure, positioning Aranaputa as a prominent ecotourism and agricultural center.
Minister Edghill stressed the importance of effective use of the funds and called for collaboration among local officials and stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of the projects.
He emphasized that a contractor must be selected and engaged within one month to carry out the work planned for 2024.
Additionally, Minister Edghill addressed the issue of incomplete roadworks from the previous year, which were funded with approximately 115 million dollars.
He instructed that all outstanding works be completed promptly and ensured that contractors adhere to their obligations.
The Minister also inspected the construction of the Pirara Bridge, part of the Kurupukari to Lethem corridor project.
The bridge, along with other infrastructure projects, is scheduled for completion by the end of the year, contributing to the overall development of the region.
This substantial investment is expected to significantly improve infrastructure in Aranaputa, paving the way for enhanced connectivity and economic growth.
