Apple Foundation Incorporated (AFI) has been recently launched in memory of Nurse Schenise Apple, who tragically died in July 2019.

This non-governmental organization aims to serve as a robust support system for nurses by collaborating with various stakeholders and government bodies.

Schenise Apple was found dead in her dormitory in Mahdia, initially reported as a suicide.

However, subsequent police investigations revealed that she was brutally murdered.

In response to this tragedy, her father, Dexton Copeland, established the Apple Foundation Incorporated in her honor.

Copeland stated that the foundation was born out of the pain, anger, and violence against women, and its mission is to attend to nurses’ needs and encourage voluntary community service.

Several active and retired nurses have already joined AFI to contribute their skills and expertise to the community.

They will receive nursing kits to conduct home visits and provide care for shut-ins.

The foundation will also offer support for abused women, extending its reach beyond just nursing care.

Furthermore, AFI has established two overseas chapters comprising nurses and doctors who will support its mandate and initiatives.
