In an exciting development, ANSA McAL, operating under the popular Lucozade and Icool Water brands, has thrown its support behind the upcoming KFC Goodwill Football Series slated to commence on December 12.
Acknowledging the significance of key partnerships, Troy Mendonca, co-director of the Petra organization, expressed during a media interaction on Tuesday the importance of having key stakeholders involved to contribute to the continued growth of the tournament.
Managing Director of Ansa McAL, Troy Cadogan, echoed the sentiment, expressing eagerness to witness local talent test their skills against some of the best in the region.
The eight-team tournament is set to feature teams from Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, and Suriname, who will compete alongside schools from Guyana for the coveted Goodwill Series title.
The participating teams will be divided into two groups, engaging in a round-robin format where each team will face the others once.
The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals, culminating in a highly anticipated clash to determine the ultimate champion.
A substantial financial incentive awaits the winners, with a total prize pool of $500,000 allocated for the champions, while the runner-up will receive $300,000.
Teams securing third and fourth places will be awarded $200,000 and $100,000, respectively.
ANSA McAL’s involvement adds a significant boost to the tournament, enhancing its prestige and further solidifying the event’s reputation as a platform for nurturing and showcasing local football talent.
