Ann’s Grove Secures Victory Against Buxton United in KFC Elite League

Ann’s Grove United celebrated a significant victory on Monday evening at the Guyana Football Federation National Training Center as they triumphed over Buxton United in Season Six of the KFC Elite League.

In a match characterized by intensity, Ann’s Grove dominated the second half, clinching a decisive 3-0 win against their opponents.

Quincy Barry opened the scoring in the 58th minute, followed by Shaquan David’s goal in the 73rd minute.

Travis Williams sealed the victory with a goal in injury time, marking Ann’s Grove’s third win of the season.

Before this victory, Ann’s Grove had managed two wins and two draws from their ten games, with six losses in the first half of the league.

Conversely, Buxton United’s defeat extended their winless streak to 11 matches, placing them in a precarious position facing possible relegation at season’s end.

Earlier in the evening, Monedderlust from Berbice and Den Amstel from the West Side played out a goalless draw in their encounter, sharing the points for the night.

The ongoing KFC Elite League Season Six commenced its second round last month, featuring ten elite clubs competing in a total of 45 matches set to conclude in August.

Currently, the Guyana Defense Force leads the standings with 8 wins from 9 games, tied on 25 points with Slingerz FC, who also boast 8 wins and a draw against GDF.

The league table reflects a competitive race, with Guyana Police Force, Santos, and Western Tiger closely following.

Ann’s Grove United, positioned in the middle of the table, continues to strive for higher standings, alongside Monedderlust and Den Amstel, while Buxton United faces the challenge of avoiding relegation.
