Imran Tahir, captain of the Guyana Amazon Warriors, expressed his team’s readiness to tackle the upcoming Caribbean Premier League (CPL) season during a fan meet-and-greet at the CPL box office on Camp Street, Georgetown.

Tahir and several Amazon Warriors players engaged with fans, signing autographs and sharing their excitement for the 11th edition of the CPL.

Speaking to the media, Tahir highlighted the team’s enthusiasm for the challenges that lie ahead.

The Warriors, who clinched the CPL championship last year after a decade of attempts and five final appearances, are now setting their sights on achieving a double victory.

Tahir emphasized that while the team is keen to defend their title, their primary focus remains on playing the brand of cricket that their supporters and the country appreciate.

The Guyana Amazon Warriors are scheduled to kick off their 2024 CPL campaign on Friday, August 30, against the new franchise Antigua & Barbuda Falcons at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium.
