GEORGETOWN, GUYANA – With just four days left until the highly anticipated Mashramani Float Parade, organizers have confirmed that all preparations are on track for a safe and spectacular celebration of Guyana’s Republic Day.
In an interview with NCN News, Director of Culture Tamika Boatswain stated that this year’s planning process has been more efficient due to early budget approval.
This has allowed for smoother logistics and timely execution of key arrangements.
“We have received a significant number of entries so far and are finalizing packages for the judges. The official list of participating bands will soon be released to the media so everyone knows who’s on the road and what they’re displaying,” Boatswain explained.
She noted that more than 25 bands have already registered, with applications still coming in via the Ministry’s Facebook page.
Meanwhile, Logistics, Safety, and Security Coordinator Gerald Gilbert assured the public that security measures are fully in place.
The organizing committee is working closely with the Guyana Police Force, the Guyana Fire Service, the Ministry of Health, and the Civil Defence Commission to ensure an incident-free parade.
“We are prepared to provide full support to make Mash 2025 a successful and trouble-free event. The Civil Defence Commission, fire service, and health ministry are all on board, ensuring that the public can enjoy the celebrations in a safe environment,” Gilbert stated.
To accommodate the large crowds expected, the Police Traffic Department will restrict vehicular access to several roads in and around Georgetown.
With all arrangements finalized, Boatswain is encouraging the public to come out and fully embrace the spirit of Mashramani 2025.
This year’s Republic Day celebration promises a stunning showcase of Guyanese culture, music, and creativity, with revelers set to enjoy an exciting and secure festival experience.
