Guyana’s top badminton athletes, Akili Haynes and Priyanna Ramdhani, are gearing up to showcase their skills at the Cuban International Invitational Tournament, set to commence on Thursday.
The duo will be representing Guyana in the men’s singles, women’s singles, and mixed doubles events at the prestigious competition.
According to Emily Ramdhani, President of the Guyana Badminton Association, both athletes have shown exceptional talent and determination, and she expressed optimism that they will bring home medals from the tournament.

In their previous outing at the Trinidad and Tobago Invitational last August, Akili Haynes and Priyanna Ramdhani demonstrated their competitive prowess.
They secured a silver medal in the mixed doubles category after a hard-fought battle in the finals against Jamaican opponents.
Despite facing challenges, including an injury to Priyanna, they showcased resilience and determination throughout the tournament.
