Concerns over traffic congestion in the vicinity of the KFC outlet on Vlissingen Road and Eping Avenue have prompted relevant authorities to take action.

Councilor Stephen Jacobs led a meeting with stakeholders, including the Mayor, representatives from the Public Works Ministry, the Police, and KFC management, to discuss potential solutions.

Several proposals were considered during the meeting, with a focus on alleviating congestion caused by the drive-through at KFC.

One suggestion is to reroute the drive-through within the property, while another involves implementing one-way traffic measures on Eping Avenue between Vlissingen Road and Irving Street.

Jacobs emphasized the urgency of addressing the issue, which has been a recurring topic during council sessions.

He noted the concerns raised by constituents of constituency four and highlighted ongoing discussions between councilor De Armos, KFC, and the police.

Despite the complexities of the situation, Jacobs praised KFC for their cooperation and support in finding solutions.

While acknowledging that the proposed measures may not completely resolve the problem, Jacobs believes they will significantly improve the traffic situation in the area.

The matter now awaits a decision by the full council, in collaboration with the police and Public Works ministry, to implement measures aimed at bringing relief to residents of constituency four.

This collaborative effort reflects a commitment to addressing community concerns and improving traffic management in the affected area.
