In an impressive display of skill, Anthony Adams spearheaded the American Cricket Society (ACS) to a convincing victory against Lusignan Sports Club during the opening match of the 2024 ACS Tour of Guyana.
The match took place at the Lusignan Community Center ground on Monday.
Batting first, ACS established a solid score of 205 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their allotted 25 overs.
Anthony Adams contributed significantly with the bat, scoring 43 runs, while Aldane Thomas added 40 runs to the total.
On the bowling side, Nigel Deodat from Lusignan stood out with figures of 4 wickets for 43 runs, aided by Chanderpaul Ramraj, who took 2 wickets for 34 runs in four overs.
Chasing a target of 206 runs, Lusignan struggled and was dismissed for 140 runs in just 22.3 overs.
Bharrat Rishi was the top scorer for Lusignan with 46 runs, followed by Anil Singh, who managed to score 20 runs.
ACS’s bowling attack proved formidable, with national U19 all-rounder Jonathan Van Lang and Keon Lake each taking three wickets.
Anthony Adams and Chatram Balgobin also contributed with two wickets apiece.
The American Cricket Society will continue their tour, facing off against the Police Sports Club at Eve Leary on Thursday.
The team’s performance in this opening match sets a promising tone for the remainder of their tour.
